The quality of education here sucks balls.
So it turns out 3vs3 soccer robot competitions have been lowered to high school level in other countries. HIGH SCHOOL. 11vs11 is still college level BUT IT'S NOT TOO HARD TO GO FROM 3V3 TO 11V11. i'm kinda pissed that the work i'm doing now (and am somewhat proud of) can be considered high school level under some conditions. It's like, what us college kids here in the Philippines can do, high school kids in other countries can match (and probably top).
What can high school kids in this fucking country do? NOTHING. NO FUCKING THING. i don't even think pisay kids can do the soccer robot crap. The most the best-in-technology person from my (pisay) batch would've been able to do is SMILE AT THE DAMN THINGS. SMILE!!!!
Most of our regular high school kids can't even program simple for shits. AND THEY WANT TO ADD TWO MORE FUCKING YEARS TO OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM. You know what i say? I SAY DOWN WITH OUR FUCKING SYSTEM.
i don't think i have a future in robotics here. So i have two options. One is take easy, high paying jobs/part-time jobs (like webdev) to supplement a shitty engineer's salary. My other option is to leave this fucking place and do REAL robotics elsewhere. These options are 50/50 - tons of factors are influencing my decision, altho not factors you people would expect.
Notice how i'm not asking anyone for their opinion. i realized in the past year that whether or not i ask people what they think i should do, it's still up to me to push through with the plan. i also realized that people think differently and none of them can truly grasp all the factors i consider, so nobody else can make a better decision than i.
On the side, the universe is a weird place. Apparently the bastard that forced some dude to EAT drugs, extorted 20k from him and killed all those civilians was beloved in his hometown. Wtf? i feel sorry for his family and friends, but not for him. A decent person accused of the crimes he was accused of (he claimed he was innocent right?) kill civilians. A decent person wouldn't have unlawfully detain someone and force him to EAT drugs. He's lucky i wasn't the sniper. i would've taken the bastard down the first chance i got (apparently there were a lot of chances), fuck my superiors. Whichever commander allowed the hostage situation to go on for 11 hours should be publicly shot. If i were his higher up i'd execute the idiot myself. And don't give me that bullshit about me "not being in the line of fire" as i'm making the decision. This is why i'm criticizing the commander, not the members of the assault team. It's hell trying to assault, however small the defending team is - and this when using plastic pellets. Imagine how it is with real bullets flying at you.
Look at this. They're trying to take our management subjects seriously in my course. Fuck it. i signed up for robotics and computer aided manufacturing. Not this watered-down Industrial Engineering crap. My course is a joke, altho i don't think i'd get better in any other universities in the country. Which is why i'm seriously contemplating taking another degree or a master's abroad.
