One. i planned to work on the soccer robots today and to join a skate compi. Both were epic failures but at least with the robots i learned something. The skate compi was like how you study for a test hard, you're well prepared and you know you can do a lot, JUST NOT THE KINDS OF QUESTIONS IN FRONT OF YOU. It's like the prof wants more than half the class to fail. Well the skatepark was built as such. If it were a little easier, aka NOT PRO-SKATER LEVEL i would've been able to do something. i know i can do a lot. i can tailslide and kickflip 5050 with relative ease on high ledges. i can airwalk freaking ramps and do ramp to ramp gaps. But that park?! NOTHING. FUCKING NOTHING AT ALL. So i just gave up without even trying. i know my abilities well enough to see thatdamn piece of shit was way above them. i had no fucking chance to do anything decent. If i had a day's worth of practice, MAYBE. But not even.
Two. Some pisay person i vaguely know posted Linkin Park's video for The Catalyst. She said it was "...sooo nine inch nails!..." i'm not one of those pa-cool hipsters that're all self-righteous about their music, culture, etc. BUT FUCK THAT. How DARE you compare that repetitive piece of shit to NINE INCH NAILS. A TRAINED MONKEY COULD'VE MADE THAT SONG. It's just FOUR MINUTES of the SAME LYRICS, THE SAME BACKGROUND BEATS, ETC. GIVE THE SAID MONKEY ONE TEN SECOND SNIPPET OF THE SONG AND TRAIN IT TO COPY PASTE. THEN YOU'LL HAVE ROUGHLY THE SAME FUCKING THING.

i have nothing against Linkin Park, people make good songs and bad songs at times, and i admit they have some good songs, even tho they're not my type. But how dare you compare ANY of Nine Inch Nails' songs to THAT. Such an analogy makes her a MUSICAL GREMLIN. NO NO NO NO NO.
There's the possibility she was talking about the video. Again, no. The video is as bad as the song. It's one of those wannabe rebellious music videos showing people fighting against "THE MAN", with people in hoodies, gas masks and guns and shit. The scenes are filled with the typical smoke machine fog (fog of war perhaps). i admit that Rise Against, a band i really like, abuses the theme of "fighting against The Man" - but i have NEVER seen such a cheesy cliched music video. i don't claim to be artistic, in fact, i know for a fact i have as much artistic sense as a warty toad BUT NO. UGH. Anything Nine Inch Nails made is so much better than that one song.
The status gives me the impression that the said person only listened to one or two NIN songs, made a stupid generalization and mentioned them to look cool. i can't persecute a person for being pretentious - it's in human nature to be pretentious and i've been very pretentious at times under certain circumstances. BUT DO NOT BESMIRCH NINE INCH NAILS BY COMPARING THEM TO THAT. If it were any other band, even one i listen to, i wouldn't be so incensed. But no. You just HAD TO PICK NINE INCH NAILS TO SATIATE YOUR WANNABE TENDENCIES DID YOU!?
That's one of the things i hate most. Saying two things are equal, or one thing is superior to another when it should be obvious the "lesser" thing is so much more superior. Like that proficiency in technology fiasco during graduation. Tell me Kevin G or Luigi L is superior. i don't mind, in fact i'd think they deserve it. BUT P*** FUCKING A******A?! The only thing he was EVER proficient at was SMILING.
You know what, i think i AM being an elitist hipster piece of shit by bitching on that girl's comparison. Why? Coz i'm pretty sure Nine Inch Nails wouldn't really care. If the band itself doesn't care what do the opinions of their fans, that don't even make the music, matter? i dunno. i just wanna slap the person across the face for having shitty taste. i guess that's still self-righteous and arrogant but whatever. i'll indulge myself this time around.
Being elitist about airsoft is another thing tho - with airsoft, lousiness leads to cheating and injury, and the root cause is lack of discipline. Lack of discipline on their part harms the entire airsoft community, so yeah, i'm directly affected by their sloppiness. My policy is live and let live, therefore, if the irresponsibility of others will harm my interests then i have to do something about it.
