A year ago I embarked upon a journey that I had hoped would enrich my life, deepen my knowledge of the cultures of the world, and lead me to live a more joyful and spiritual human experience. Celebrated every year on 12 January since 1985, National Youth Day has brought celebration to the fields of education, art and culture as a source of inspiration for the children if India. The holiday takes place on the birthday of Swami Vivekananda who thought very strongly of the youth of India as the nation's future.
