What a satisfying last day off before I work for over a week straight. I didn't finish a thing, but I worked on several projects.
I worked on CdCercles and finished the big, half-circle motif on the right-middle. I worked on CdCarreaux with the new silk threads that I've never used before. Anyone have suggestions about how to keep the silk in the needle? Aside from getting used to sewing with air, that seems to be my only problem, and I'd love any suggestions.
I worked a bit also on TW's Castle Ridge. After I reviewed the tutorial about parking again, I decided to work on 10x10 squares at a time, and that seems to be working pretty well. However, it seems pretty weird to have a bunch of threads lined up vertically, when the lovely lady who wrote the tutorial worked with her threads parked horizontally. It's working pretty good so far, and we'll see if it keeps. :-)
Now I'm going to turn to Maidens of the Season I and put in some time with that. It'll be nice to work with single color flosses, on 28ct fabric after all the blended floss with 36ct of TW's designs.
All this sewing has also been interspersed with cooking, cleaning and reading (woot! I'm back to reading again!) I got two dinners worth of chicken roasted and rice cooked, and a pot of chili cooked. I put away the clean dishes from yesterday, and then cleaned a new batch and put that away. I've just started reading Laurell K. Hamilton's, "A Kiss of Shadows".
