Ha,
so true. Right now, I am at my parents' place, making a coconut cake! I am very excited about this, and hoping it turns out well because if it does, I will make another one next week for
Baby Benjamin's Baptism. Well, not for the actual Baptism, rather, for the party thereafter. Unfortunately, the light in the oven doesn't work, so I can't track the progress of the cake without billowing cold air at it, which would be dire.
The kitties are sleeping (as kitties should) and so far it has been a peaceful day. I rushed here from my place this morning, only to realise that my student that I thought I had is not coming until next week! Oh well, now I can get the cake done, which is good, and make plans for dinner, which is also good.
Married life is great, so far. I love coming home to
fuzzycoatimundi (or having him come home to me!) each night, and we are slowly building up a little home. I don't love the oven at our place (hence the baking of the precious cake here, at my parents'), but most things are good there. I think we are really lucky to have found our place. The rent is very reasonable and our landlords are awesome. They keep two baby elephants, but they don't complain about the cello lessons below, so I won't complain about the pogo-stick practise above. I have set off the smoke detector thrice, twice on the same pizza. It's a small area and a very enthusiastic smoke detector.
Life is so lovely at the moment, and I feel fortunate and grateful. I miss my sister, and I miss seeing friends as often as I would like, but I like keeping up with those of you that post regularly, instead of lurking, like me.
