(no subject)
They say that if you can't sleep for too long it's best to get out of bed and do something else for a while. Hence I am playing on the internets. It's been a while since I wrote, so here is an update on my life:
I only have 2-3 more weeks at my job, and I'm pulling for 2 because it gets me to my family faster, whom I dearly miss. Nothing like a little cancer scare (it's nothing - all resolved!) to make you wonder why you moved beyond easy driving distance of your parents. If it had been more than a scare, I'd be home already, but all the same it really made me re-evaluate where I should be spending the last bit of my single life. Answer = not here. So I am going back to MI, where I will spend some time in the Romeo vicinity, some up at Torch Lake with family, but also head out to CA to get set up a bit, and to Chi-town for some reunionizing and an ND friend's wedding. A busy summer indeed!
So I spent Memorial weekend/Kevin's graduation/my big 24th at the DRocks', and felt entirely at home. It was a very good visit. I can see future holidays there, maybe even the biggest of all (in my book): Thanksgiving. It will be tough to break tradition, but exciting to get the chance to pave new ones together. Whoah is me, my world is changing! I have a wedding band (though we're still working on Matt's) and a joint checking account! And a date with the Catholic Church to talk about natural family planning (right) - It's all real and it's coming together! And I can feel it in my gut - it's right, and it's time :)
Am I gonna be Mrs. DRock? I hear Kevin is DPebble... Is there a feminine variation? maybe I'll be DGem... or DBling? - yeah, I'd take that. But I think such labels are under the authority of Paul - I'll have to consult with him!
