Seriously, there's some new info released on Pottermore. And it includes what? ONLY AN ENTIRELY IMPORTANT TO ME CHARACTER'S FUCKING BACKSTORY
( Read more... )
Well, like everything else, there's a backstory to the backstory, but I'd just prefer to be told there's new stuff on Pottermore *or* had a spoiler tag or at least been asked, "hey, did you want to know this?" This is the WHOLE backstory plus all of her werewolf mythology, and it does sound different coming from the horse's mouth. I guess Rowling just decided to do one massive info dump, and it's pretty much the only reason I bothered joining Pottermore in the first place. I honestly don't know if I'll even bother now.
Normally I don't make a big deal about spoilers, but new Harry Potter content is, well, new, and there's enough of it to count as new. In my class, I tell my students that while I'm not going to insist they join Pottermore, things that are on Pottermore might come up in discussion. At least then they have fair warning.
Anyway, it's not "Snape killed Dumbledore" level of spoiler, but it's as though Snape's whole family history was revealed. I think, probably, most Snape fans would skin you alive if you just sprung that on them.
