"This earthquake was longer than usual, a roller, about twenty or thirty seconds...you can keep watch on it on our sister channel, where we'll have up-to-the-minute information. Now let's move on to Tiger Woods..."
...That's California, right there.
Anyway, we just had an earthquake. Odd that I was OUTSIDE and my first instinct was to run INSIDE. I had to make myself stay outside cause inside there's a house to fall on me, but outside there are actually no trees nearby, so it's safer. It was odd to see it outside for once, and feel it too...interesting.
That bit was written right after the quake. We now know it's a 6.9 in Mexico, and there's at least aftershocks coming, possibly more big ones.
....I'm just glad I don't live in Mexico right now....I mean, besides the fact they'd shoot me on sight. The earthquake wouldn't help things.
Anyway, everyone keeps saying it felt like a rolling motion, and I agree. You could feel the ground moving under you to the left, and...well, running when the ground's moving is an interesting experience.
EDIT: it's a 7.2. NorCal had an earthquake as well...4. something....but it's unrelated.
