THREAD ; atonement
Characters: Sheifa & Kane.
When: After this event, and just after Sheifa sends Albel (and Maria) off.
Where: Econtra, just by the second Consulo.
Summary: Sheifa prepares to return to her world. Kane comes to do so as well.
Warnings: Doing this here since the Econtra comms will soon be closed. Nothing to warn about, methinks... except excessively cute father/daughter bonding?
When he'd vanished from her sight, Sheifa fell to her knees and buried her face in her hands, sobbing.
She had her chance. The Warden had said so when they attained victory, fulfilling his promise to his faithful warriors: "You are all free to return to your worlds, or the worlds of your choosing." Oh, she would've been in Airyglyph right then and there; it was within her reach, just a jump through time and space away! That was what she always dreamed of, to go with him to his world and live there and start a family. But no, she had chosen not to go. At the very last minute, she backed out on her promise to be with him forever, choosing to take another path, the path that spiraled downward to the place she'd left behind and what could be the place of her death. All because she had a score left to settle, with her family and her past and the dark soul that remained a part of her.
He'd given her a week to finish her business. She'd smiled, giving him six days in return.
But she couldn't smile now. He was gone. Gone. Albel was gone, and she didn't know if she would ever see him again.
