Nothing exciting here. We won't be going to Houston this weekend after all. We thought we would avoid the hurricane for one and for another we'll be seeing Hunter this weekend (Yes, I miss my puppy dog).
Other than that, I'm reading Flash Forward by Robert Sawyer who is Canadian. He is a wonderful writer although occasionally he'll say something that throws me for a loop and reminds me that there are indeed differences between Americans and Canadians (not that that's bad), but it is subtle. If you like good speculative fiction of the SF variety, you should definitely read him. I have enjoyed every book of his thus far. This particular book is about a physics experiment gone awry. Somehow the attempt to create a boson particle (don't ask me; I think I need to take some more science classes or read some college textbooks on physics) causes the consciousness of every person (and apparently apes as well) to go forward in time 21 years for 2 minutes. The only people who don't go forward for that time are those who are dead. The book deals with the philosophy of how the lives of the main characters and people as a whole (through news articles and such) change because of the glimpse of their future self.
It is an excellent read thus far, I should finish it today. If you want to think, give it a try.
Other than that, I'm doing my best to type while Alastair does his best to fiddle with the computer.
I walked with David again yesterday, but today I will probably get a break since he's going to Austin, which is okay as my hip hurts.
Oh, and I'm officially down to my pre-Alastair weight. It has only taken me almost 17 months to do it, but I have. I think the proportions are different though. I still need to work on my stomach, and I think I don't want to waste money on a gym.
I also wrote some yesterday, so that's three goals that I worked on yesterday.
I also sent a letter to a friend of mine who has an entertainment company that has just started publishing books to get more details on it. We'll see how that turns out.
