Die Bell Die

Oct 30, 2007 10:33

Me: Hi I'm moving and need to move our phone
Bell: Will you be moving your other bell products as well?
Me: We don't have any others
Bell: Why not?
Me: To be honest, we've had nothing but bad experiences with both Bell and Rogers and are constantly overcharged for mediocre service and in ridiculous service fees, we're trying to eleiminate them both, Bell's just the last to go.
Bell: Well that's too bad, sometime's it's just one person who represents the company poorly you know.
Me: No, it's the whole company. But you're nice, so we won't go into it.
Bell: Ok well let's change your number
Me: Can I choose it? (Rogers lets you)
Bell: No.
Me: When will they come to install it?
Bell: Oh you're lucky, we can do it electronically, so no one will have to come at all!
Me: Oh good, so no fee?
Bell: Oh...no, there' still a $55 fee.
Me: But you just said someone just has to push a button, you're charging me $55?! For the same as for someone to drive all the way here and do actual work?
Bell: Yes.

Gee, I'm really glad it's not company policy to gouge people for useless fees and mediocre service....

Can anyone suggest a non-Rogers/Bell home phone provider that's reliable and doesn't make me want to hurt people?

UPDATE HILARIOUSNESS:
Me: I haven't gotten a bill for my internet in a long time, can you tell me the balance?
Rogers: What's your address
Me: .....Toronto
Rogers: That's not what we have here
Me: Well that's where I am, although I did put in to transfer it to Ottawa on November 5th.
Rogers: Oh, that's it, we've been sending your bills there.
Me: Why would you send it there already?
Rogers: You put in for a transfer.
Me:So you're giving internet service to a house in Toronto,  sending bill randomly to Ottawa. where you know I don't live yet, 'cause the hook up date is November 5th, and you're still supplying internet here.
Rogers: well, at  least you know your next bill will be going there.

SIghhhhh.
