slight timeline shenanigans for lulz; it's been awhile since she was doing this a lot XD waterfell November 14 2011, 06:47:25 UTC
[Busy night tonight for thieving senshi. Mercury seems quite pleased with herself, lips pulled up in a rather proud smirk and with something held tightly in her hand. It glimmers blue, like a gem, but with an otherworldly glow.

The blue rainbow crystal of another world.

She looks up to find herself right in V's apartment. She stops short, the crystal is secreted somewhere about her, and her hand reaches for her sword, which obligingly materializes in her hand. She stays with it ready, but without attacking. The smirk is wholly gone.]

What's this?

V turns around to look at the source and blinks. "Ah, you again." She had met the girl once before, though it was brief. However, V never forgot a face. Walking with a slight limp, she sits down on the couch, the golden apple she had procured sitting on the end table next to her. Reaching under the couch, she pulls out a first aid kid, fully intending to take care of her wounds and not caring that the other girl was invading her privacy.

"Looks like the Nexus is having fun again." The only reasons he didn't de-henshin was due to the burn on the top of her thigh; she had been wearing jeans when she transformed, so putting skinny jeans around a burn was probably a Bad Idea. And yes, it deserved capitals.

She gives a glance to the golden apple. Jupiter would have pounded either of them for tonight's escapades (or in Mercury's case, tried), and somehow that thought - no, no of course it doesn't almost feel like camaraderie.

"Seems so," she says simply, before turning her eyes back to the thief. This would be the moment, while Venus is already wounded, to attack; she can't help her mind noting that.

She doesn't do it, somehow, though she can't erase her frustrations with Venus either: for humiliating her by making her wrong about the princess' identity, for her alternate's comments about wanting to take everything away from her, for being willing to take the place of the princess and let her escape scot-free, for being a senshi.

"What did you bring that apple here for?"

Wincing as she applied ointment to the burn, V answered without looking up. "Well, this is my apartment. Putting it in the suite of one of Japan's top idols would be the last place anyone would look for it. Come tomorrow, it'll be donated to a museum in London, who will in turn make a generous donation to the women's shelter I happen to be supporting." She blew some hair out of her eyes, pulling out a wrap bandage from the kit.

In another life (ha), she'd have offered to take care of the wound herself. As it is, she only watches V's efforts for a moment.

"Don't want to part with your own earnings?"

V shot the dark senshi a look.

"What's that supposed to mean? The treasures of the corrupt should be used for the betterment of those who need it more."

"I mean just what I said." Hypocrisy again; her view of the senshi anyway. "If your concern was for those people, you wouldn't live as one of the rich."

You know. The limo, the bodyguards, the salaried manager...

She smirks again. "Why not just enjoy it? Or is this to try to kill some sort of guilt?" She herself has never bothered feeling guilty over her wealthy background as the daughter of a famous doctor, or her own money from her medical research and patents now.

"I don't have anything to feel guilty for." The reply is simple as she wraps a bandage around her burn, making it as tight as possible so she can slip out of her jeans once she de-transforms.

"So it's just to play hero." Equally as unimpressive. She doesn't believe in the speeches about noble motives. She doesn't believe in the senshi.

"It's to keep me trained. Something isn't right." She stands and goes behind a screen, a flash of golden light indicating she had de-henshined. "And I'm not stopping till I figure it out." There's rustling as the idol starts to change.

That, that gets her attention. She doesn't particularly care about the thefts; she'd been after rainbow crystals herself, and while a part of her doesn't quite accept the robberies for the sake of money, it's not enough for her to involve herself in right now.

"Something?" Time to speak up, V.

What comes from Minako next is a deluge of information. "Hino Rei, student at T*A Girls Academy, also a priestess at Hikawa Shrine. No change. Kino Makoto never transferred into Juuban Middle School, and is still at her former school. Mizuno Ami, former Juuban student, transferred to America after being offered a scholarship. Tsukino Usagi, Juuban student, currently in a five month long coma after suffering the worst of a car accident that injured her entire family."

Minako finally steps out in a skirt and tank top, her dark hair pulled back. "All this, and not one whimper from the Dark Kingdom. All my travels through the nexus have led me to the conclusion that something has offset this timeline." She walks back to sit on the couch, her thigh throbbing in pain.

No change. Then she's aware of, or thinks she's found, some baseline normal fate for their worlds.

"Shouldn't you be pleased? After all, we're your enemy." She makes it we so deliberately, as if the uniform and too-dark eyes don't already spell out the differences.

And frankly, she cares about the princess' coma about as much she does for Venus' knee, she tells herself.

"I can't be pleased when something feels wrong. And this does." She leans back into the couch, staring out the window. "Even if it means erasing this world... I will find the reason the timeline is off, and fix it."

"You always were determined." She sounds dismissive of it, herself - but of course she does. It's her way.

"If you plan to destroy this place, I won't stop you. However, if you try to touch my world, you'll be taken out before you can."

"What makes you think I give a damn about your world?"

She can be just as uncaring as Mercury, it seems.
