Belated Mamoru/Endymion Birthday
Colorful festive banners drape the walls. The finest musicians play. The aroma of the kingdom's most famous dishes fills the air, served by liveried attendants. Everywhere, there is quiet talking and airy laughter.
All of this is in honor of the prince's birthday. Proclamations read out at intervals proclaim his many fine qualities (and ignore his less fine attributes).
In the middle of the pomp and finery, Endymion is bored. He finds himself looking for the princess a few times, and interested in little else. The musicians strike up a moderate tempo waltz, but he chooses no partner, preferring to sulk near the wall with spiced wine in a large goblet. A few of the guests remark in low voices that this is unusual for him, something must be wrong, is the prince feeling ill? Normally he'd be in the thick of everything enjoying himself.
