There's a beautiful endless garden of flowers of every color and kind and golden butterflies flying around.
It's the kind of place that screams 'magical' the moment one steps into it. It has a strange feeling on it as well, mixing reality with spiritually. Some may even think it's some sort of a dream. Others will wonder if this is the afterlife. Both ideas would actually be correct.
This is nothing but a small glimpse of what the Golden Land is. Here, in the Purgatory, where souls await for their fate to be decided. There's no court here, thought, judging everyone's crimes and successes. Their fate isn't decided by that, but by the result of a chess game. A private and personal one.
If Mamoru manages to overcome his problems and finally accepts that the human culprit is one of the eighteen... The souls locked here will be led to the afterlife definitively and rest forever. If he gives up and accepts the witch as the only culprit, she will be able to use the ginzuishou, the last magic spell of an endless witch. The door of the Golden Land would be able to be opened, and the souls trapped here would be led to an eternal world of happiness. The whole world would come with them, and happiness will never know an end.
But Mamoru is still playing. Stubborn and blind. So this place remains as just a waiting room. A last dream in the way to the afterlife.
There doesn't seem to be anyone around, thought. However, if one were to explore, it wouldn't take long before they would spot a gazebo made of white stone. Sitting there is the familiar figure of Serenity, with long blond hair and a beautiful gown. In front of her... A table with a chess board. She's playing by herself apparently, though the opponent's pieces move without anyone moving them. If one were to pay attention to her game, they would wonder if she knows the rules. Her movements don't follow any known strategy, seeming random, as if she didn't care of the result of the movement. They almost border going into 'out of the rules' territory. But if one were to pay even more attention to the game they would see that she remains within the rules... And that despite her randomness she is obliterating her opponent.
