Another day in Crystal Tokyo. Another day in the long war the world is facing in that future with the Golden Crystal Kingdom in full power. The war is still in a stalemate, the enemy waiting in low profile and the kingdom forces regathering and improving their strength, planning for the final assault. It's a matter of a few days, soon the order ( Read more... )

"I'll be your opponent." That coldly playful voice can only belong to Mercury. Sure enough, she steps out boldly into full view. She angles her body towards Usagi, and lifts her sword into position. Her face is a mask revealing nothing of her intentions.

It can only be Mercury. And that tone can only belong to one Mercury. At least as far as she knows. It's funny, how she has been pulled in by the nexus to Usagi's side just as Usagi was wondering if she will be able to improve, if she will be able to show her that she can change for the better. After all it was this Mercury who made her realize she had to change, that she was really as bad and wrong as her alternates ( ... )

It's one of Usagi's finest qualities, that ability to recognize her faults and move on to work at changing them, neither letting herself accept them nor becoming paralyzed by regrets.

It's been a long time since she's seen that bright smile of Usagi's, and Mercury changes the heavy feeling it gives her into readiness for their match. Her smile, half a smirk, grows.

Then there are no more words. Mercury runs towards Usagi, closing the distance sharply and quickly. She leads with her sword, and as soon as she's in range, she makes a turn to give her blows more force and strength.

There are no need for words after all, Usagi's bright smile only changes into a smirk of her own as Mercury charges to her. It's different than fighting with any of the shitennou or with Kunzite's alternate. She knows them already, mostly, and even the alternate was pretty much like the Kunzite she knows.

But the Mercury she knows doesn't use a sword. This is a kind of opponent she has never faced and because of that Usagi plays defensively for the most part, letting Mercury do the offensive. She moves fast to match the other, trying to put the exact strength needed to block her advances and not waste energy pointlessly. This is just starting, she wants to see what the other can do before she starts on the offensive on her part.

"Uwa!!"

There's a blonde Usagi in strange clothes looking around wildly. "W-what the?" Her hand is at something on her side--it turns out to be a sword hilt. This is an Usagi who has not been buffeted about much by the nexus yet. Therefore, she looks extremely lost right now.

The girl draws her sword abruptly. "Starlights! It's you, isn't it?" she demands, brows drawn together as she turns around herself, much more carefully. "Whatever this is, leave everyone else out of it!"

Usagi stops, staring at her counterpart some feet away as she finally catches sight of her. This is...a new enemy trick?

Usagi stops in her practice as she hears someone else. Someone else whose voice matches her, an alternate ( ... )

"Why do you look like me?" She demands, but her tone isn't aggressive. She even lowers her sword too, but her brows remain deeply knitted, her expression confused, worried. "Where is this?"

Definitively unfamiliar with the nexus. Is she in the mood to try to explain it to her? Could she really do that? In the worst case scenario they would end fighting seriously... Which may not be bad as she wanted to practice but she really doesn't want to fight her alternate seriously. She's not ready to do it without getting lost in her own self-hate and loath.

"You're in the Golden Crystal Kingdom;" she answers calmly and serene. "As to why I look like you, I could ask you the same question. Is this your first time traveling this far?"
