"A new strain of mad cow disease!? And it's drug resistant!?" The doctors couldn't believe their ears as the resident spoke. "Are you certain?!"
Are you certain. Such funny words. The student nods solemnly.
"Yes." It's Mizuno Ami, and she looks as serious as could be. "It's what's infected the Kobe beef supply. And, because its infectibility and mortality rate is 100 percent, the chances of zoonosis increases over that of normal BSE. I would suggest, if I were a doctor, to isolate the patient as soon as possible."
"Oh no...!" At this, the doctors clasp Ami's shoulders. "Despite your age, you've again managed to figure out the cause of the patient's problems. Hopefully, stronger antibiotics will save him, if not prevent the spread of the disease."
"Yes, but sir." Ami stares. "The cows. They'll have to be slaughtered."
"Yes...yes, they will... we have no choice."
The girl nods. Such a thing would put the beef supply back and ruin many of the less prosperous farmers, Ami knew. Prices would skyrocket and the worldwide beef market would be in danger if those Kobe cows had mingled with others. But, that was what happened. Que sera, sera.
Excusing herself, Ami returns to her lab, closing the door behind her. A few seconds later, a little smirk comes on her face, but...she's only smiling because she figured it out. Yes. Of course. Pity the poor victim, but at least they know what it is now and they can stop the spread.
For now. Until then, Ami has some filing and bookkeeping to do!

this is her universe. Those most in tune to her will probably feel her to be familiar, or have a feeling of not quite right. People who are evil will definitely feel a twinge of uneasiness. People who are sick...should probably not go near her at all.))
