Wasshoi! Matsuri!

Mar 16, 2010 22:12

One doorway in the Nexus leads to what most visitors would call a taste of home: a traditional Japanese festival. The host? Hikawa Shrine, of course. Upon entering the door, clothes are replaced with a yukata that suits the person's tastes, to allow them to easily get into the matsuri spirit ( Read more... )

Surprise is clear on Rei's features (even made greater by the girl suddenly hugging onto her). She almost calls her the princess, then remembers the name she was just called: Rei-chan. This was the reborn princess.

Remembering herself, Rei smiles faintly. "Good evening, Usagi-chan," she greets.

Mars nodded. "It is," she admitted, "Though not what I expected to find today."

Ami lingers near a goldfish-scooping booth, where she watches several people take their turns. She decides to try as well, and examines the paper scoop before she dips it into the water.

It had taken a few minutes to overcome her surprise finding herself in the yukata and somewhere she hadn't recognized, but Ami's settled in to have a little fun for once for now - as long as she keeps an eye on her surroundings.

"Is there a point to this?" Cobalt isn't too far away from Ami, her form in a black yukata with navy blue accents. She hold up her broken wafer, scowling. "This tool is not sufficient to catch any animal with," she complains.

Ami smiles, and tries not to show her surprise at finding an alternate. She shouldn't be surprised, after all. If she's met alternates of others, than the odds were always in favor of meeting her own.

"I think it's fun," she says. "It's meant to be challenging. It's difficult, but it's possible to catch them."

Cobalt 'hmph'ed some, turning her nose up. "What do you do with these creatures anyway?" she asked, motioning to the swimming goldfish, "Are they food? Do they serve some other purpose?"

"Don't be so tense, Kunzite~"

The playful scolding comes from a younger Ami, her form in a deep blue yukata with a bubble pattern. "It's a festival, correct? You should take some time to celebrate while you can."

Ami pursed her lips. "That's a shame," she comments dryly, walking to a nearby candy apple vendor, "The yukata suits you." She turned to the vendor. "Two candy apples, please," she ordered with a smile. Of course, since this was the nexus, Ami wasn't charged any money for the treats.

She moved back to Kunzite, offering him one of the apples. "Try to adapt, just a little, for now," suggests the waterbender.

A white and blue yukata, hair tied up in a bun, feet in flat zori... Mizuno Ami was a bit unrecognizable, especially since she was aiming a rifle at a stuffed kitten at the targeting practice booth.

Hey, doctors needed to have fun too. And she was delighted to find the room.

He, too, doesn't particularly mind the yukata; he's hardly unused to traditional clothing. Kunzite doesn't actually smile, though, until he spots Ami and his head turns to follow her.

"Ami." He calls out her name, just that.
