It's the worst thing to say. For a moment it seems like Usagi may not even have heard it or is ignoring it, except that the slump of her shoulders deepens. She takes a few more slow, dragging steps before she can't bite her tongue and whirls around.
"Of course I care!" she objects vehemently. Of course she does! "But if that person was innocent, it's wrong to use my power against them, too!"
Right, Usagi. Innocent when they've got the senshi at their mercy ready to finish them off?
Yes! If they were being manipulated, if it wasn't really them. She's seen plenty of enemies - even daimon! - that way.
"This power is enough to rule the world," Usagi says quietly. Apparently she does get it - somewhat, anyway. "I don't want to make it cruel!"
"Besides, maybe I'm not worthy of the ginzuishou. Maybe I'm not right for it and maybe I don't know exactly how to use it. But I have to protect it. It's not something I can just give up."
She understands that finally after these past years.
"My loved ones are the most important to me!" She's not sure she could even live without them; she knows she wouldn't want to. "But if everyone can be saved, and if our enemy can be healed, that's what I want!"
"Even if something happens, if that saves someone, everything can be restored later! Even if bad things happen, they're not the end." That's how it works from what she's seen: The Dark Kingdom, Black Moon, even still trying to find some way to save Hotaru because it's not fair if that sweet, innocent girl dies.
That kills whatever part of Usagi had been listening, because even she has her limits and she's lost track of the false accusations by now. She has nothing to do with Artuka.
"For everyone," she says firmly, and the calm might be a warning all is not well. It's not just only for her and the senshi, and she will not take alternates' burdens as her own anymore.
"Whatever might have happened to your people is sad, I don't know about it," she says. "But my choice is to try to help everyone."
If her other self also had mercy on her enemies, also wanted to help everyone, not just a few, also wanted to save the world as a whole and find a way to do that without sacrifices- She's glad to be like her. Even if it's horribly sad that she somehow hadn't been able to do that.
"I think..." she says very quietly, "Isn't there a chance you're misunderstanding?"
"You said I'm like her. If I'm really like her, there's no way she'd ignore it if her friends like you, and your friends, were hurt."
"I told you, I don't know what happened," Usagi ventures hesitantly. Really, Loof, try to remember the basics. "But, aren't your friends with you now?"

"I'd want to save both!" Isn't that always the best? Isn't that always what her power and what being a sailor senshi is?
