Christmastime Is Here~

There's a feeling of warmth in the air, even though snow is falling just outside the windows. There's a faint but noticeable aroma of...something decidedly holiday-esque. Gingerbread maybe, or cinnamon. Laughter and happy chattering echo up and down the hallways. Everyone seems to be in a good mood, bustling here and there, squeezing by everyone

Venus - always Venus in the nexus, it seems; she wastes no time transforming whenever she finds herself transported - stands a little off to the side, watching the preparations with a calm, almost thoughtful expression. She doesn't approach or interrupt the workers, but she seems appreciative of their efforts.

The shitennou takes his time with his own decorating, seeming more lost in thought than anything.

He circles the tree, laying the garland along the limbs carefully. As he turns, something catches his attention from the corner of his eye. He glances up. Sailorvenus? It's her. There's a smile for her, warmer than before, and he leaves his work carefully to approach her.

"Welcome," he says quietly, once he's close enough.

Venus stays where she is, but returns the greeting once Kunzite is close enough. "I'm sorry for intruding." She hadn't planned to crash his world's festivities, but now that she's here, if he's willing to let her stay, she will.

"It looks very nice. Like Christmas," she says. She can remember, as perhaps so can he, an era before that holiday existed. Perhaps this is just meant for Yule instead.

"Neo-Queen Serenity-sama is still fond of the decorating and presents and festivities. So, the holiday season still continues for her sake." Kunzite can remember that time as well, but he appreciates the smiles and happiness this brings the other shitennou. It was more than time they got to enjoy such things.

She still can't used to thinking of the princess as having become the queen. It's too different. She nods slowly, almost uncertainly, but keeps her thoughts to herself. He already knows enough of them anyway, probably.

"I'm glad to be here as part of it," she says.

"I would ask if you would like to help decorate, but I don't intend to put you to work." Kunzite says with light humor in his tone. He motions to the tree he's decorating. Zoisite and Nephrite have gotten into some light-hearted argument about which branches the garland should go on across the room.

"Ah, it's alright," she says, apparently meaning not asking her since she makes no move in that direction. She glances towards the two arguing and her mouth quirks in a somewhat bemused expression.

"Some things really don't change," she remarks, though it'd be more likely to be Nephrite and Jadeite in her world.

"Jadeite will find some reason to get in on it any moment." Kunzite doesn't seem bothered by it, in fact his tone is somewhat fond. He watches the group a moment too, then looks back to Venus.

"It's been a while," he comments.

She wouldn't be surprised. Venus actually manages a slight smile at the thought. She can be more tolerant of the shitennou's quirks than the sailor senshi's. After all, she's not responsible for them.

"Ah." The tone is neutral. "The nexus has been quiet. That's good."

Said quirks (or at least the tendency to argue) is normally harmless and falls to the wayside once the need for proper responsibility presents itself. Because of that, Kunzite doesn't generally mind.

Kunzite regards the somewhat detached response with slight curiosity, but doesn't press it. He nods. "It has, it seems."

Her world's Kunzite would explode in thankfulness if he could get the younger two shitennou to be serious when the situation calls for it. Venus... has similar sentiments about the senshi's preparedness, or did. She trusts them more, but she still hasn't told them about the nexus.

"For you, too?" she asks. "Maybe that means its power is becoming less." Wishful thinking.

"That would be a good thing," Kunzite answers, but he doesn't believe that it has. Maybe, though. Maybe. Wishful thinking, indeed.

Quiet, Kunzite. It's Christmas-time; wishful thinking is allowed. And if they're both saying the nexus hasn't troubled them in awhile, it's possible.

Of course, if she's here, it's obvious the nexus hasn't disappeared, either. On the other hand, if it did, a lot of people wouldn't be able to see each other anymore.

"Shouldn't you be helping the others?" she points out. "I don't want them to be angry if I keep you from doing your share."

"They're being in each other's business, right now," Kunzite answers instead. "They're supposed to each be decorating their own trees." He motions to the other four trees. "So I'm right where I should be." A small smile.

Heh. It'd be nice if the senshi could be like that, having fun together and planning for Christmas. Venus finds a smile, as if they are and will. "I see."

"Then, should we do yours?"

"I'd be delighted to have your company," he answers immediately and pleasantly. And he's being honest. He motions to the array of decorations. "I'm sure Serenity-sama would appreciate a woman's touch on the decorations."
