Saturday, May 10th
Yesterday I was out shopping with dad, and his car stopped in the middle of the road for a few seconds, and "Visit Workshop!" and "Malfunction!" flashed up on the dashboard thing. :-O
Then the car started slowly rolling...very slowly.. and dad said that it was nearly impossible to break, and very difficult to steer.. the car wasn't responding.. luckily we weren't on a main road, just a kind of backstreet, but there were several cars behind us.. dad rolled the car into a parking spot on the side of the road, and turned the engine off. He tried the engine a few seconds later and the car was fine again, or so it seemed!
Then it happened again, and we managed to roll it into another parking spot and then called the road side assistance people...
They ended up towing it away, it took about 15 mins for the tow truck to arrive (which was pretty good, especially considering the traffic was shocking that day!) and then another half an hour for a taxi to pick us up.
So we were standing around for half an hour waiting for a taxi, and we had dad's golf clubs/bag with us, and various hats and coats and things that we needed to take home with us. It was also a kind of slightly shady part of town, all the houses around us were abandoned and had smashed windows and overgrown gardens, and the people walking along the street were kind of intimidating-looking, too. Haha. But we were with dad so it was ok. :-P
Then FINALLY the taxi arrived and took us home... and we went out again straight after, but in mum's car! Haha. We needed to go to the mall to get something for mum for mother's day (Which is today -- Sunday). So, that was all an adventure! :-D Haha.
Sunday, May 11th (Mother's Day)
Today wasn't as exciting as yesterday, but it was pretty action packed for what I thought would be a lazy Sunday. :-P
We gave mum her mother's day present and cards (Pink slippers and a cute winnie the pooh & co. card) and she loved both!
We then went to the golf practise/driving range place, and I had a go and really wasn't too bad for a complete never-played-in-her-life-except-for-that-one-time-at-year-three-camp-where-we-played-mini-putt-putt-golf-and-i-sucked-at-it beginner!
Then we went home and dad and I played Gran Turismo 4 (a car racing game for PS2) and that was lots of fun. I'm such a reckless driver in this game, hahahha. I crash into stuff and like to try and leap over guard rails into the air and all that good stuff. Brings out the extremely competitive, dangerously wild side in me that is seldom seen otherwise in life. :-P Anyway, that was great fun!
Then we played a quick game of table tennis and I was on fire! Seriously. The last time I played I was all over the place but today I was awesome. haha! We didn't score though. :)
Theeennn we played a nice, relaxed game of pool and I hit some nice shots, even I was impressed! :-O Hehee.
I have always been COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY UNCO in almost every sport involving kicking and throwing or whatever... Netball, Rugby, Basketball, hockey, gosh, lets just say every sport I ever had to play at school, I am hopeless at!! Hahah.
It's a nice little buzz when you do play something quite well, or if you've improved since the last time you've played...
Tonight we're going to watch one of my parents favourite old comedy movies (like 1940's) and I love them. "Sunday night at the movies" hahah.
Anyway, hope everyone had a happy mother's day! :-)
