So I guess fate's funny in that 'kick you in the nuts, but I'm not going to let you know why' type of way. I have no idea why I'm so torn and- I don't want to say unhappy. That's not it. But- I feel like there's something... missing? Maybe ( Read more... )

ok THATS weird, gamefaqs.com had their poll yesterday which was "has a video game ever made you cry" weird.

1)not so much a character, as a situation in general. kingdom hearts ending, and ffx-2 2nd best ending. (never got the best, cause its fucking hard as hell)i cant remember if i did for ff9, that one got to me because i played ffx first, so i wasnt as sure what the ending would be as i would normaly be. (trying not to spoil too much lol)

2) this is a bit tougher... maybe yuna? if you only count ffx. she starts out the game totaly screwed and knowing it, and then when she gets herself out of that one, the guy who helped get her out.. poof, gone. the whistling at the end is quite depressing. i dunno i cant really think of much else.

shit... now i have simple and clean stuck in my head, and a wicked urge to play KH. damn you! :O)

I didn't even think of Yuna, to be honest, but I would have to agree. I didn't even beat the game and it made me sad knowing what would happen to her.

As far as spoiling, don't worry about it. Like I said, those games have been out a while. They should have been beaten, but maybe we'll get to talk about them more in person/online.

And as for can't think of anyone else... did you play FFVII? :p

lol i dont consider aries that tragic, SAD yes, but not tragic. she made a valliant choice and she was perfectly ok with it. whereas yuna still seemed to have that bit of regret and sadness about her through the game.

and i was more worried about x-2 because its newER and alot of people havent gotten the chance to pick it up yet cause they were paranoid about a sequel. and i feel like you get what im saying well enough :O)

I think Aeris is tragic. It may have been a valiant choice, but what other choice was there? She was doing what she needed to to save people and ended up being killed. I can see where it might come off as more sad, but- Maybe it's more in the opinion?

1) *think think* .... I don't think a video game has ever made me cry. But then again, maybe I haven't beaten enough of them. >.^

2) Vivi! Ok, maybe he wasn't so tragic.... but come on, to find out what he is, and what other's like him were doing/where. I still love him, but it was kinda sad.

*waves* hi Matt!
Miss you. I'll give you a call soon!
^.^

I see that we're sticking with Final Fantasy here, eh? I agree with Vivi, too. He was a good tragic character. If you want to lump Final Fantasy IX characters, you have to include Freya in there, too, though. :p I don't thoroughly remember Vivi's story, but I definitely remember that scene of him in the rain and me getting all 'waaah!!'. heh ( ... )

well i already said my thing about aries, celes is definatly not a bad choice, locke is another good one, i think id pick terra over them just because of the total uncertantly about what will happen to her when they beat the bad guy. and daryls not that tragic, hell im pretty sures shes actualy gogo. :O) and rinoa is a pretty good one two, i DID love the story, its a shame the game was bad.
steves not a bad one either, he WAS annyoing as hell, but noone deserves to be made into a huge monster and forced to attack the girl you have a crush on.
i dunno about crono, aside from dying once hes not that tragic, unless you count the mother ending lol. i would go more twords magus and/or frog. probably more twords magus due to the total lack of closure since his sister is still out there somewhere. and PnP.... wait a min... that reminds me, i CANNOT belive you havent at least mentioned.. i know its not a video came but cmon, check out your icon man, THATS tragic :O)

I definitely do agree with you on the hierarchy of the FF VI cast. I think Daryl's tragic more because you have to look at it this way: if it is Daryl, she can't just come out and say who she is. How would it look to people if she were suddenly 'alive and well'? Especially, when you find her, it's in the second world, where most of the people she knew were most likely killed by the 'Light of Judgment'. She wanted nothing more than to be the best at what she was and ended up in a terrible accident. I suppose it's more tragic if you add in that Setzer was so distraught over it his whole purpose for living in the second half was because of the memory of her friend. If she hadn't become more than a memory, though, how would that have changed ( ... )

Medal of Honor 2 makes me choke up, but not really misty or anything, during the blitzkrieg levels, but that's about all I can think of.

Somehow, I knew if anyone was going to think of the one I was so tempted to put on but didn't, it would be you.
