I know it's been a while since I've written. I've been busy looking for a summer job. (of course I've been busy with other things, but that's been the most important). But no one wants to hire me. Two main reasons seem to keep me from gainful employment. 1) the inability to work nights and weekends--it seems like everyone who is hiring now wants their employees to be available 24/7 never mind the fact that I have kids and there sure as hell isn't any daycare centers open on the weekends. and the other big reason is when ever I do get called back for an interview the employer is always dismayed that I haven't worked in several years because I felt it was more important to be a stay at home mom. LIKE HELLO PEOPLE! Slinging french fries at McDonalds isn't that tough of a job, having been a stay at home mom has not rotted my brain to the point that I can not put grease covered food items in a sack and say "thank you, please come again" **UGH** At least I can read and write; when I did work in the food service industry years ago I often got a chance to look over the applications; you'd be amazed at how many of them seemed as though applicant had barely a 3rd grade reading/writing level. I swear the next time an interview says, "I see you've been out of work for the last 4 years, can you explain this?" instead of answering truthfully about how I felt it was important for me to be home while my children were young I think I'm going to make up something along the lines that I was kidnapped by space aliens and have been living on planet Zurgy for the last 4 earth years. I might have a better chance at getting a job that way.
In other news, the day before I was cleaning the house up. I sat down for a breather, when Joise came up to me, curled up and put her head on my chest. She then looked up at me and said, "Mommy, you're heart sounds like it's doing the disco!" MAWHAHAHAHA! That was just too funny. This is also the child who when gathering up our dirty laundry quotes "Bring out your dead" from Monty Python's Holy Grail. God I love that girl. She is so funny at times.
