We'll find the perfect place to go where we can run and hide / I'll build a wall and we can keep them on the other side.
He stays for coffee after JaeJoong finishes his cry - he’s got eyes full of sympathetic looks, hands made for holding mugs full of steaming brew that almost made it look like an apology. JaeJoong feels sheepish afterwards, but he’s assured it’s fine.
“Name’s Yoochun,” the boy greets. JaeJoong sniffles and meets his outstretch hand with his own.
“Kim JaeJoong,” he says, and gives his hand a firm shake before retreating and hiding it under the table.
“You don’t sound like you’re from Busan,” Yoochun says. JaeJoong feels heat spreading over his face - his accent. He almost completely forgotten he had it, no one comments on it anymore.
“Uh, I’m not,” he stutters out, biting onto his bottom lip. “Chungcheong province, in a village near Daecheongho Lake. We just moved here last semester.” JaeJoong does the math and realizes he’s been away from home for almost six months - he misses the village more than he’d wish.
“Ah,” Yoochun smiles. “I’m not from around here either - that’s why I was playing, actually. Hoping to make some money. My mom is sending me to live with my dad in Seoul, but I hopped on the wrong bus…”
“Where from?” JaeJoong asks casually, taking a sip of his untouched mocha latte.
“Incheon,” Yoochun mutters under his breath. JaeJoong chokes back his coffee.
“Incheon?” he snorts. “As in, big city Incheon, ten-minutes-on-the-subway to Seoul, Incheon? How in the world did you end up here?”
“Yeah yeah,” Yoochun dismisses, waving JaeJoong away. “You just try traveling by yourself, big boy.” JaeJoong is about to say something clever about how often he has to travel alone, when he remembers why he travels - to get home - and how much he hates being there.
So instead he swirls the coffee around his mug, nervously checks his watch to find he’s missed the one-am bus. He sighs.
Though most people wouldn’t have, Yoochun catches the little glimmer in JaeJoongs eyes, reaches out and squeezes his hand. “How about I get your number?” he offers, smiling warmly. “In case I get lost again.”
JaeJoong nods without saying anything, let’s himself be distracted enough to feel better, because god, it’s been awhile.

Just like to make some notes about JaeJoongs' (and Changmins' forgotten) Chungcheong accent - it's typically considered by the rest of Korea as a reflection of the people who live there, and is spoken a weebit slower than standard Korean. Syllables are a bit more drawn out, and they tend to speak softer.
From
Wiki Travel, apparently:
One way you will immediately recognize a typical Chungcheong dialect is the person will end their sentences with a "yoo" when using jondae mal instead of the standard "yeo".
. . .whatever that means.
