You've got a heart full of gold, but it isn't your fault that gold is too heavy and you're heart can't keep it up
When JaeJoong first meets Yoochun, it's like their planets are aligned.
He’s on his way home from school - twenty after twelve, carrying I was held in late for maths as an excuse, though really, he didn’t want to go home - waiting at the bus stop for what feels like forever. When he finally gives up and checks his watch, it reads 12:49. He thinks it’s strange that his bus hasn’t come yet, until he checks the schedual on his phone and realizes the last bus left at twelve fifteen, and the next one isn’t until one. He fixes his excuse, makes it was held in late for maths and also missed the bus, and looks for someplace to take shelter in the early-morning cold.
So he finds himself in the café across the street, sitting in the low booth and listening to a sad stranger croon out the words to a half-done love song, something about a giver that never gets, something about being broken and bleeding on the inside - something that wasn’t over yet. He hears one line, you’re young and beautiful and forgotten, and suddenly can’t keep it all in anymore. He cries.
And after the stranger steps away from the piano, he finds JaeJoong, and there’s something in his eyes that scream, ‘I know.’ So when he reaches out and touches his arms, hands him a wrinkled tissue from his pocket that JaeJoong pats at his eyes with, embarrassed, JaeJoong isn’t all that surprised when he says, ‘I’m sorry.’
