The Shopping Spree Begins

Moonette heard the door to her beach house creak open and then click closed. Was it six o’clock already? She glanced at the clock, then quickly took her arm and swept the several miniature silver credit cards off of her desk top and into the top drawer before....

Girlyswot had been so absorbed in her fascinating French conversation (as I'm sure the reader was too) that she hadn't noticed the noise levels drop. The crashing and shouting seemed to have stopped. Then a familiar voice rang out, 'Girlyswot? You there?'

'Here, Charlie!'

'Everything okay?'

He clambered over a fallen stack of Diricawl felt and came to stand beside them. Girlyswot stood and leaned up to kiss his sooty cheek. 'Have they gone?'

Charlie nodded. 'The Ministry will have to sort it out now. Good thing too, if you ask me. Keeping beasts like that in cages. No wonder the poor things wanted to escape. I'm going to send in a report and see if we can get them transferred to Romania. She okay?' He nodded down at the shopwitch who was still sitting in a shaking heap on the floor.

Girlyswot went to help her up. 'She's fine, but she's worried about the shop. She didn't have insurance.'

Charlie grimaced. 'Poor kid. I don't suppose there's much out the front that's salvageable. TDU and Albus were pretty thorough with that water they were spraying around.'

Girlyswot shook her head. 'Everything will have smoke damage too. She's lost it all.'

'Come on out, it'll seem better in the daylight.'

Girlyswot couldn't imagine it would, but she and Charlie helped the girl over the wreckage of the shop. She hoped someone was making tea. That was what they all really needed.

'Hello there!' TDU was grinning wildly at the front of the crowd. 'We knew you'd be all right.'

Girlyswot rolled her eyes. Still, they were all right, and Charlie had rolled up his sleeves and was sporting a nice new burn that looked as if it might scar. Plus they had the unicorn fabric for Berte. She wondered if it was dry clean only.

Happy birthday, amamama!!

*bone crushing hug* Oh, I'm having the best! This is such a hoot. I've had to go back and forth (where are the servants when you need'em?), and I just love this. Poor girl though, I hope she'll get ample refund from the circus. we'll have to put Richard on the case. I mean - honestly! I agree with Charlie. Keeping dragons in cages? *harrumpfs*

And now I'm needed downstairs again - more asap.

So I'm back - for a sec, as I need to go to bed, but I'm so continuing with this tomorrow, and then writing a bit more myself. Not time for that particular piece of fun today. Yumm - unicorn fabric... *happy sigh* When I close my eyes, I can both see and feel it - it'll make the most incredible Hulder!Angel outfit!

I've been having a blast these last days, thank you for taking part, Ros! You are special. *gentle hugs* (I hope I didn't break any bones the first time?)

Blame TDU! I said fabric shopping, she said to bring Charlie and a dragon...

But I'm glad you're enjoying it. And that unicorn fabric is VERY special - it'll make you feel healthy and look stunning all at the same time when you wear it. You'll never buy ordinary cloth again.

Very clever, Ros. TDU left you with a challenge. Dry Clean Only is sooo annoying. I'm sure unicorn fabric is washed in innocence so it would never get dirty. *nods*
