Moonette heard the door to her beach house creak open and then click closed. Was it six o’clock already? She glanced at the clock, then quickly took her arm and swept the several miniature silver credit cards off of her desk top and into the top drawer before....

I'll like to say how much I've enjoyed this story. Most original and inventive!

I had to giggle over the rose and its roots. Twenty nine little socks! lol

Oh Megan, this is precious! Of course I'll knit twenty nine little socks for The Rose. No doubt about it. *wide grin* Loved your story! *hugs* You're so sweet. *more hugs*

I adore this gift! The sweet dream rose - it just sounds beautiful without knowing anything about it. And of course your description does it justice. Love the whimsy of the 29 socks. You always love something more if you have to care for it. (Also in The Little Prince). Thanks for sharing this story. You should archive a version of this on the Quill or Phoenix Song.

Thank you all for the kind words. *takes a bow* The story was planned as a stand-alone gift originally, which would have made it publishable at SQ. However, moonette's shopping idea turned it into something much more fun, for which I'm very glad. As it stands now, it doesn't really work out of context. That's fine - I loved writing it.

The sky described in the first part was, in case you haven't guessed, inspired by the photos of the nacreous clouds that Berte posted a while ago. They looked ... eerie. Surreal. Magical.

As for Megan's adventure quest with Indiana Jones... she just wouldn't cooperate. She's too bossy to let the big hero-man take charge and rescue her. Of course, Rolf - being a man - got turned off by her bossiness, and never mind the legs. :-) I suppose I could replace Megan by Hermione (whom she really resembles most in the HP world), and have a shot at SQ.

I guessed! But I obviously forgot to mentionit. We've had clouds like that every evening, but not as much - just one or two smaller ones.
