Glee Top 108 - #077 "Don't Stand So Close To Me/Young Girl"

Jul 14, 2010 14:46

Going to work my way through the 108 songs, hopefully one per day. This includes all 100 released singles, whether they appeared on the show or not, as well as 8 which were not, over the course of season 1. It was difficult for me to play favorites and put them all in some order, it’s just not something I’m comfortable at doing, but then I DID want to do it, so I buckled down and now here we are.

(076) - (078)

In which Will Schuester turns into a rock god… hee hee! The whole scene was good comedy all around, right from Rachel checking her breath and all that, like it’s a big ol’ date… and then Emma being her usual cute self.

It almost feels as though the star of the performance isn’t even the guy singing it though. Of course, he was amazing, as Will tries to pass on his message, good and clear, but at the same time, he’s a showman. So he’s climbing on the bench, he’s pointing, he’s so very into it.

But the real stars for me are the collective of the Schuester fangirls. Rachel, of course, she’s all swoony, she’s locked in on ‘OMG he’s singing TO ME!’ and the message doesn’t have a chance of coming in as anything but a misunderstanding. She’s too enthralled to care. Speaking of enthralled, there’s Emma. At first it’s all ‘yes, good, teach her, you can do it.’ But before long, her own emotions for him take over, and how could they not, with him singing in her general direction. The two girls together, all giddy and swoony, is just too good for words… And sudden flaring of Rachel’s ‘bitch, you staring at my man?’ and Emma’s bopping along… The big claps, hee! Emma’s ‘bravo’ gives me one last good giggle and yes, Emma, he’s a very good performer!
