Soon things will be better

With all the stupid crap going on in the news and online I find myself grateful to have these bundle of furs to play with and love to get me through the frustrations. Once again I spent a day butting heads with a friend who as sweet as he is fails to have a clue when it comes to race issues. I know as a white male his experiences are different, but c'mon, is it really to hard to step out of the box that is your existence and try to empathize with someone else’s world?

Luna was dehydrated and weak when I found her, but she took to eating soft fish quickly. She’s rather timid, so I’ve been making sure she eats first before the other kittens have access to the food dish. Low aggression, high curiosity. She is not a picky eater so far, I would guess being the runt of this litter she did not often have enough to eat most of the time. Skilled climber, and coming in at under a pound that's a promising sign for her to have the strength to do that. She is one that will be staying with us. My son named Luna after the character in the HP books that is one of his favs, Luna Lovegood.

Zora was the most skittish, but also the last caught, though she is warming up nicely to us. Impressive jumper. Was very vocal the first few days, but has calmed down a great deal since in that was as well. She is a rough player, but I was surprised to find that next to Luna she’s the smaller, at half and ounce over a pound. I named Zora after Zorro (fem version) because she has that noble thief quality to the pattern of her coat (black hooded mask and cloak) and attitude.

Brighteyes was very protective of Luna, but in less then 24 hours we learned she was very affectionate, and loves to get her belly rubbed and scratched. She is a heavy player, with great hunters instincts, evidence of which is seen as she stalks her sisters and us. The name Brighteyes comes from my children’s father who took to the kitten right off and was the one she exposed her belly to the morning after she came to stay with us. She’ll be the other kitten to find a permanent home with us here. She weighs in at 1 pound, 2.5 oz.

Star is the biggest of the litter mates at one pound four oz, with the healthiest appetite. She’s easy to win over with treats, as well as playful and low aggression. She’s bold and full of spunk, though not as graceful at times like her sisters.
