Author's Spotlight Special Event "Best QGT interviews of 2007"

Dec 29, 2007 10:47

Okay, since I never heard back from this week’s author for her spotlight, I thought it might be fun to share with you some really great interviews I’ve read this year. Since I joined Queer Girl Talk, I’ve seen some wonderful work done there by Deven, and I’d like to share some of 2007’s personal faves with you.

Andi Marquette is a great lady, and a kick butt beta reader. I’ve never have published anything without her help and encouragement. You can check out the PDF version of her interview and her website. I was so excited to see her get contracted, and I can't recommend you checking out her work enough.

J. D. Ward is a very talented writer with a fresh style that’s all her own. You want a taste of urban with your lesfic, this is the lady to check out. You can check out the PDF version of her interview and her band Life Underwater my space link. Her work is edgy and urban, and has got a good bit of attention from more mainstream markets. This is great for the rest of us who right more urban toned lesfic as well.

Lori L. Lake is not just a great writer, but she’s but busting her adorable hinny to teach new writers. Her dedication to that task is unmatched by anyone else I’ve seen among GLBT writers. I can only hope one day to know a quarter that she does so I might help other writers too. Check out just some of the articles she’s written. You can check out the PDF version of her interview and her website.

Jane Fletcher is one of the best known names in lesfic, and an amazingly nice person. If you don’t know who she is, you should get to know her. This is a writer with a great amount of talent whether she is writing fiction or article like this one...And the Plot She Thrives In. I remember reading this way before I started writing lesfic, and it’s as true today as it was then. You can check out the PDF version of her interview and her website.

And we come to Radclyffe, the Grand Dame of Bold Strokes Books, unquestionably one of the leading publishers of lesfic, just as Radclyffe is the best known for her steamy lesbian romances and action novels.  Many author will remember her best as being the one who gave them the chance to be published, to have thier work recognized. Come check out her website too!

Women like these are the reason there are writers like me with the courage to put our selves out there, and walk the path paved for us by such great women. Whether they are a founding lesfic author, or someone who gives there time to support authors just trying to get started, I honor them.
