Instead of doing my weekly Friday Flashback, I’ve decided to go for a Friday Freeform. So many people were talking about traveling lately, I thought I might find some picks of one of the places I’ve dreamed up seeing for a long time. I don’t know if I can ever afford it, but not giving up on the dream quite yet.
Australia Houseboating on the
Murray River…I wrote a scene for a YA book I am picking away at, where the characters lived in a houseboat on the Murray River. It looks like such an amazing experience. I want to try it.
With a well traveled boatswoman/man and guide of course.
And as long as I was on the river, I might as well get a bit of fishing in, maybe catch me some
yabbies. Assuming of course I had someone else there to clean and
barbie the
tucker I hunt up. :) (I love Aussie sayings)
There’s this great tour call the
Harry Nanya Tours just outside of
Mildura. Harry Nanya Tours is an accredited Australian Aboriginal owned business with some great events. I want to go soooo bad. The mom of the MC in that book I mentioned works on the tour, and it sounds like a great time. Plus, being Native from the US, I like the idea of supporting the businesses of other Natives when I travel.
I really want to go to the
Australian Zoo. I wish I could have taken my son there before
Steve Erwin died. The Crocodile Hunter was his hero. The do so much good work there, I’d do anything I can to support them.
And then comes the Outback. Donno, might be too old for a bush trek when my kids get out of the house and I get to go….
NAH!!!!
