Those were the days

Remember the good old days of MySpace and LiveJournal when you could be yourself cuz you were (should you choose to be) completely anonymous? Now it looks like Facebook has teamed up with LJ to find yet another way to collect our private data without our knowing consent.

In light of Facebook's constant changing of their privacy policies and their obfuscation tactics that prevent the average user from knowing how to protect his or her privacy, not to mention the requirement to use your real name, I don't trust these buttons and certainly don't plan to use them. (I'm still using Facebook primarily due to peer pressure, i.e., because most of you seem to want your real name and personal info attached to your most private thoughts and activities that you think you're only sharing with friends! I'll still never get why Facebook has taken off like MySpace and LJ never did. In fact, I'm still waiting for someone even to try to explain it to me!)
