Interesting to note...
On my friends list, I have liberals, some of them radical; I have conservatives, as well, though the most conservative voice is actually a community.
I have been listening to the reactions of various people today.
The overwhelming majority of those that didn't care for Obama seem to be pessimists.
No matter how polite their posts or comments (and sadly too few are polite, but they are out there) the consensus seems to be:
Now we go to hell in a handbasket.
The words haven't been said in that manner. The fears are stated as not possibilities though, but as reality.
Obama IS a socialist and will eliminate the constitution. Obama WILL tax us all into oblivion to fund the lazy people at the bottom. Obama WILL cause terrorists to attack us. He's immoral and unethical and mean and a liar.
Etc, etc, etc.
And the one idea that popped up more than any other in the conservative group is:
I don't care how much you repeat it, we are not and never will be One Nation again. We don't like you and we don't want you because you are different than us and we will stand against you at every turn because You Are Wrong.
I expected it. But I had hoped for better. :(
Is compromise possible?
