Oh my god Bret Michaels is desperate. (fyi, in case you didn't know, he's the lead singer of Poison)
I was channel surfing just a minute ago and he was on access hollywood practically begging for a date. Apparently they're doing this whole "america's most eligible" segment or something.
Enough of that.
Last Wednesday I went on a trip to Puerto Rico with my mom. I'm quite relieved to say that I managed to stay pretty calm and not rip my/her hair out, although there were a few moments when i wanted to.
I'll admit, there are definitely some parts of the island that look like, well, Hialeah. (and for those of you who've lived in miami or ever been to hialeah, you'll know that's not exactly a compliment) But there are other parts (ahem RAINFOREST ahem) that are breathtakingly beautiful.
My favorite place was El Yunque, the rainforest. You really feel at one with nature. It is the most peaceful place I've ever seen, and when you breathe, you actually feel the freshness in the air. MMMMM. I really want to go with David one of these days...I didn't get to do much at the rainforest since I went with 50somethings, one of whom was my mother, who thinks she suffers from all sorts of ailments. (She asked one of the guides at the place if one of the trails was "safe" for people who suffer from "cardiac problems". HA, my poor mom) But I DID get to bathe in pure, natural rainforest water. What a feeling!
I finally heard the entire new Maroon 5 CD. I haven't made up my mind on what I think about it, but I'm leaning toward something like, "it doesn't SUCK, but it sucks for THEM". After giving all the tracks a listen, I've really only liked about 4 or 5 out of 12. I'm going to see them June 9th with a friend from work..It's been about 3-4 years since I've seen them live, and I'm not as excited as I was. They'd better play old stuff, cos it's a hell of a lot more rockin' than this new CD. Maybe it will grow on me. Maybe I'm not giving it a chance and just comparing it to Songs About Jane too much, instead of coming to terms with the fact that it is a COMPLETELY different CD from it. Blah. My favorite tracks on it are "Makes Me Wonder", and "Kiwi". Kiwi is to It Won't Be Soon Before Long as Secret is to Songs About Jane, except Secret was a little hotter.
Maybe in a week I'll have something else to say about it.
I have more to say but I just got tired of writing.
