Well, i think it's official...My son (*ahem* dog, sorry) Casper seems to be living on borrowed time.
My personal, non-licensed diagnosis: cancer.
David and I took him to the Doggy ER last night, where an asshole of a veterinarian "treated" him. WHAT A FUCKING JOKE. He saw us in about 2 minutes. Decided that my dog had a hematoma around his groin/inner thigh area due to the diapers he's been wearing. Decided he had an "infection". Told me he was going to give him an anti-inflammatory injection.
Now, let me explain. This "hematoma" (aka bruise) is practically black. That's how dark a purple color it is. It is all over his groin area (including his little, and pardon me for getting into so much detail, canine balls), and spreads near his butt, and around his inner thighs. He's also got a ball of swollen god knows what near his tail on his back. What I thought of when I noticed this last night was that it was gangrene. Y'know how limbs look back before they fall off after frostbite? Yea. That's what it looks like.
So, this piece of garbage vet wasn't even interested in drawing any blood to see why the hell this is happening to him.
Took him to the "back" to "give" him the shot...which is the first time at any vet where they haven't done it in front of my face. Leads me to believe that they never gave him anything. And it's not like the swelling went down.
So, here's the rundown:
-1 Professional Service & Exam: $80
-1 Hazardous Waste Fee: 4.00
-1 Injection: 27.00
-1 Animax ointment: 20.00
-1 Clavamox Drops (antibiotic): 20.00
in summation,
Pretend Vet examination: 151 bucks
Risking his health: can we say lawsuit?
So far, no improvement noticed on his "hematoma".
I'm taking him to a REAL vet this week...But I can't until Thursday...I hate my 5 day workweek. If I was still a tech in the ER I would be able to go get him taken care of during the week like a normal person.
He's not writhing in pain or anything...But holy fuck this is scary, and if you saw what it looked like, you'd freak too.
If I wake up and find him dead I might get a little traumatized (to say the least).
My poor baby. Damn it's gonna be so hard to say goodbye to him...He's been with me for every milestone since I was 10 years old.
