River knocked on the door to Lady Sally's suite, hoping she was in this afternoon, and not downstairs. She figeted with the hem of her dress, looking a little nervous.
The door opened, and Sally smiled at her. "Oh, hello dear! What brings you to my suite? Come in, come in. Not looking for a raise, are you?" She winked to show River she was joking; River knew her dancing had made quite a few occasional customers regulars, and Sally wouldn't likely deny her anything.
But that wasn't why she was here. "Oh, no, the pay is quite acceptable. More than, thank you." She sat on the chair Sally offered for her, declining tea. "I had a question. I um..." River sighed. This was harder than she thought. She took a deep breath, and continued. "I need something that will prevent conception, and I'm not sure where I should go, or what is even available here. Can you help me?"
Sally flashed River a beautiful smile and winked. "I thought I saw something different about you." She went to her desk and pulled out a business card, scribbling a series of numbers on the back. "You call this number, and make an appointment. Tell Dr. Fleischman to bill this account, and he'll get you set up." She handed it to River. "I'm glad you're taking precautions. Not that I don't think you'd make a wonderful mother, but this isn't the best town for it."
River nodded, accepting the card gratefully. She stood and gave the older woman a hug. "Thank you."
[[Because I am a bad mom and it was pointed out that River was not using BC. So now she is, ha! Even though if River and Jayne reproduced they would be pretty, pretty kick-ass children. *shifty eyes*]]
