Small update
I have the hiccups. I think the Tiny Tyrant is contagious. Dammit.
Pediatrician visit today - he continues to gain weight at a phenomenal rate and is otherwise fine and healthy. Yay, Tiny Tyrant!
Doc suggested peppermint water before a feed, to help with what appears to be his nasty lower wind pain. I hate watching him writhe and squawk and yell. It breaks my heart, and I feel like there's nothing I can do - often the wind just won't come out. I'm researching some help online, which suggests that especially in these first few weeks changing my diet may help.
OMG, I thought all those insane women in the clothdiapering community were, well - insane! But modern cloth nappies are so very cute and addictive - I ordered a couple more single "samples" from the Nappybucket, who're having a sale, this evening. I ended up spending just over $100 (for four or five nappies that will last either till he's toilet trained, or a couple of months before they can be resold at minimal loss, natch).
I feel as though I've swapped out shoes (which were never a major fixation of mine, truthfully) with cloth nappies inside of my psyche.
