A great weekend! Now feeling zapped :P
It was a wonderful weekend!!
Thursday night I had an Irish Cream hot chocolate and then did cross-stitching and hung out at the Coffee Grounds :) It was nice. The Coffee Grounds is a really cozy place to hang out, and I always meet new people there. It's just interesting to chat with new people from time to time and everyone that comes to the Grounds is nice.
Friday I slept in...I finally felt well-rested on Friday! I managed to do basically no work during the day :P Coming back from the dining hall, I was just walking around, spacing out basically, when all of a sudden this person said, "Hey Kelly." It was SHAHAN!!! OMG! I hadn't seen him since sophomore year! He finally came to visit Conn this weekend! it was so cool! So weird seeing him on campus! But awesome. He told me he's got a job and an apartment lined up on NYC for next Fall, so great for him. He's very excited! So cool!
I went out to do errands...got my Salvation Army coat dry cleaned! Got some stuff at Shop Rite and AC Moore. Then I went to the mall on a whim :P I actually did quite well there! I found two sweaters that fit and look pretty good, and they were not too expensive either!
Then I came back and got ready to tutor and tutored and then finally it was time for Ben to get here! I had an amazing time with him again :) Friday night we had Indian food for dinner and later we got some ice cream and rented a movie called "A Mighty Wind." It was a strange parody of folk music. THe humor was very different, but it wasn't a bad movie. It was right for the mood we were in.
Saturday we went to Rosie's for brunch and then basically just hung out until he left later in the afternoon. We were both feeling kinda lazy this weekend I guess cuz we really just hung out like a lot :P But it was really enjoyable. I feel closer and closer to him every time I see him and he's so wonderful :) It was hard to let him leave! hehe. But, I was glad to have enjoyed my time with him again :) And I already look forward to next weekend!
Saturday evening was great too though. Finally, I got to go and hang out off campus with Sam. It was long overdue! We went to Applebees for dinner and I got some fish that was pretty good and then this chocolate cake thing for dessert, hehe. It was really good. Then after dinner, we went to the brand new Best Buy just opened up in Waterford. It was fun...that store rules! Although I am broke now :P I bought a CD, Three Doors Down, which is one that I have had my eye on for awhile. It was only $12 so I decided to go for it. Then, I spotted a couple of gems in the discount DVD section and couldn't resist. I mean, $6 for a DVD! That's great!
After Best Buy, we went to the mall and looked around there for a bit. Luckily, I spent no more money :P
Then we came back to campus and just hung out for awhile and had a really interesting conversation about racism. I really enjoyed getting a chance to hang out with him :)
Then my fun continued. I was Julia's "date" to the Blackstone Crush Party. Cassie and Eric showed up at the party too, and we also got to see some other cool people, including Shahan. I was glad to get to see a bit more of him while he was here. I was SOOOOOOOO ridiculously tired but somehow managed to stay awake and enjoy myself until around 1. I had some munchies and Julia and I got some cheap wine...it was pretty bad stuff, LOL. But they had orange soda there so we added some of that and it was pretty good and it reminded me of being in Spain!! hehe. Then there was a live band. Honestly, they weren't that good...they basically covered their lack of skills with extremely loud bass :P But they played energetic music and we danced around a little and it was fun. Finally, I crashed at around 1:30.
But I feel so dead still today. The stupid heating system at this place...my heater wouldn't come on before bed last night. A couple of hours later, my room was FREEZING. And the heat was still off! I was so cold I couldn't sleep. I had to put my blanket on top of my bed. Then, some time later while I was sleeping again, the heat DID come on...and mighty fierce. And it got SOOO hot. Then I was too hot!! UGH! I kept having to readjust the heater and the covers and it really interrupted my sleep. I hope tonight is better...I don't wanna get sick!
Today I will try to be productive or something :P Chamber Choir concert tonight!
