i'm in los angeles. chocolate (my kitty) still loves me, he's on my lap right now. :]
i'm still sick, although it looks like i'll be okay by the end of the weekend. the day before i was awful, yesterday i was a little bit better, today it's not as bad in general, though my cough is worse. the thing that worries me is that my medicine is running out, and that's a bad thing because colds like to come back to me ASAP if i stop treating it.
my christmas shopping is pretty much done. the gift for my mom i had to have sent here to los angeles because it wouldn't have arrived on time for me to get it in san jose, but it came a couple of hours ago so i just need to wrap it. in january we're gonna get the last of the gifts to be sent to mexico, and then i can consider it completely done! we would have bought those already, but we ran out of money. o_o;
bryan and i drove down last night and it went fairly smoothly. no traffic. being sick made it less comfortable, but there were nice things like listening to eddie izzard's unrepeatable, eating inn-n-out, and pulling over to look at the stars.
we have TV!! sort of. bryan got a computer monitor and we noticed it had a video-in connection. so we bought rca cables and connected them from the cable to the monitor and voila! it works. i'm so happy, i have something to do other than internet. ;_;
my school situation isn't looking good. spaces are filling up for the classes i want, in particular japanese. i know japanese isn't an art course so it shouldn't be important, but it is because it's worth 5 units. i need those 5 units because i need 12 units total to be considered a full-time student. i need to be a full-time student so i can still qualify for health care. but my documents are still on the east coast and i have no idea when i'll be getting them. without my documents i can't get a california ID. without a california ID i can't enroll because they'll charge me as a non-resident, $182/unit, which we can't afford. which means i would have to wait, once again, for the next semester until i can go back to school. i don't want that.
