And, here all of you thought you had to be surrounded by dysfunctional relatives, estranged morons, and family drama during your Thanksgiving celebrations.
SANTA FE, Texas - According to Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, deputies (following an arrest warrent) took a 26 year old man into custody on Tuesday; the family wishes to keep his name, as well as there's, anonymous.
His crime?
Assaulting his 23 year old sister with a hot, pecan pie.
Yes... that was not a typo.
As reported by
KHOU - Galveston Channel 11, the incident began all the way back on Nov. 26th, when the 26 year old man got into an argument with his sister during a Thanksgiving gathering at their parent's house. The argument was over weather or not his children should stay the night with their grandparents (the parents of both the 26 and 23 year old siblings).
Santa Fe Sherrif, Captain Barry Cook, said; "They had been arguing over the past two weeks over their children staying with grandparents overnight at the same time. She told him they were too old to be watching both kids at the same time."
The brother, who was heating a piece of pecan pie in the microwave was reported to have threatened his sister with the pie, quoted as saying; "If you don't shut up, I'll throw this at you". And when the sister refused to drop the subject, the man then took the pie out of the microwave and smashed into the 23 year old's face.
The woman was taken to a nearby hospital in Alvin, TX... where doctors stated she sustained 1st and 2nd degree burns on her face, neck and shoulders.
First, the woman reported her brother to the police. Then, a few days later, she wanted to drop the charges on her brother. However, Texas law mandates that any form of family violence is under obligation to be prosecuted against.
As of Tuesday, the 26 year old man has been charged with aggravated assault and is being held on a $40,000 bond. A court date in pending.
