I know I'm awfully late and have no excuse for that but… I always keep my promises and I did say I'd write you a long comment that would make up for the wait I hadn't planned to make you wait that long though.. if u were even waiting anyway /shot Well the long comment when kinda... overboard... and became, well, commentS /bricked.... sorry? *cough*
First, I shall thank you. I didn't have the luxury of time to sit and re-read it in one go, even when I was so frustrated every time I had to halt, but your fic kept me entertained the past few days while I was between hospitals, uni and work ♥
Anyway, get ready to be spammed~
*takes deep breathe*
The way you began the fic set the mood perfectly and is so captivating, making us readers to find out more, to know what happened, what is behind those thoughts Kame have and this new beginning. It sets the angst as well even when there's nothing unhappy about that little prologue… but there are sentences like those instead:
"It was almost there. Almost within his reach, and it felt like coming back home after years spent on a faraway, gloomy place."
"Kame felt a hand on his shoulder, a ghostly memory of many years ago when Akanishi Jin had given him a wide, encouraging smile while poking his back and pushing him forward into the lights of their first concert as the debuted group."
"He took a deep breath and uncomplainingly, willingly succumbed to the moment, to the place, to the first tones of Real Face, and to what had always been meant to be his life."
WHY SO BEAUTIFUL? *_*
Maybe it's bc I knew bits of the story, of where you were going that I felt the angst behind and also spotted a hope I was happy to see there since I knew it was the present and thus could hope for a happy ending, at least as happy as you can do after making Kame suffer so much *pouts*
"The hand from before was still on his shoulder, fingers clenching and slightly rubbing. Comforting and promising everything would be fine. Like it had always been.
Kame didn’t need to turn his head aside to see the one standing right next to him.
The one meant to stand there…
Always."
alkjhfdskalhjfdk Kari approves!!!!
And then the in his dream, Kame could fly came and my heart introduced Jin in the story. Out of topic but : "She wasn’t even born yet when everything had started." <= poor her she've missed a moment of history!! LOL
I'm not gonna comment on Ryo's appearance since you know how much I love every time you include him in fics… ok I lied, I can't not comment especially when he says stuff like this “No, it’s not. ‘Early’ was fifteen minutes ago when I got here. Now it’s just the right time for you to get your ass ready or we’ll be late. I will be late and then will have to kill you.” LOL!!! So typical Ryo and so ♥ Ok, I'll really really try hard not to paste every of their discussion… or the whole fic for that matter /bricked.
One of the things I liked the more about this fic is the way you portrayed Jin… well everyone's characterization is so well done and it makes the whole thing feel so real and hurt more ;_; but Jin especially… it just suits so well the way I see him. He actually passes here as a selfish bastard but to me, it seems more as a way to protect himself, to hide his real feelings from the world and maybe even from himself. Like when he says “It’s fucking up my career and my life after all so I have all fucking rights to know the truth!” and then thinks stuff like "When had they cut him out of everything? When had Kamenashi cut him out of his life?. For someone also btw who doesn't care about KAT-TUN, he really knows the guys well xD
