So. Where has my laptop been all weekend? On my dad's desk, as he tries to transfer me to a new Macbook Pro. Apparently, the discdrive tried to chew through an installer disc, and we were suitably worried. IMO, there's a time to tell dear Dad you really really need to work on your gay threesome graphic art, and this weekend wasn't it. I beg your ( Read more... )

Thanks so much for replying. I hoped you were speaking in joking fun, and I'm not angry.
Canadians can be utterly flaying when teasing other Canadians, and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's how we built this country. :} So I say, tease away! Just don't take my passport, i stood in line 4 hours to get it. : )

So my brother works for a big DVD and CD chain, and he's special ordered me season 4 *\o/*. Apparently when he went to the counter:

bro: "dude, can we order due South?"
other guy: *blink blink* "What do you really want?"
bro: "No, seriously. And Slings and Arrows"
other guy: *look of horror* Ok, but you're taking Transformers too.

Could be worse. Your new mac could have been a pc and then you'd be languishing under the loathesome weight of windows vista. Hope the data transfer works out!

was there really a war about ray/ray? i'm totally new to the fandom, and i keep hearing about the ray wars and so on, and i'm not sure how seriously people are using the term "war"...

Well, I wasn't there for it (I got into dS just under a year ago), but based on the recollections of those who have been here for longer than I, I would put good money on the RayWars being one of fandom's largest and most impacting conflicts. I don't mean to monger stories, but I've heard of people who have left fandom altogther, people who suffered real life consequences over it.

I can't remember where, but one of the newbie sites (crack_van or someat) had a summary. If you're still curious, it might be helpful.
