Episode 2 was very good, providing good character development for Hotch as well as an engaging case for the team (and the viewer). Reid got marginalized a bit due to his injury from the previous episode, but I wasn’t too disappointed with that. Besides, there was a short shot of him hobbling around on crutches, which I found hilarious. The case the team worked on was well-done and had a few surprises which I wasn’t expecting (The subject killing his father, for example).
It was eerie seeing how Foyet’s actions have affected Hotch, turning the previously cool-heading character into a reckless man with a bit of a death wish. I can see major issues with Hotch in the future if he doesn’t try and fix his mental state now, as shown by his new security system and the fact that he now doesn’t like people moving when his back is turned.
My favourite part: Reid’s conversation with Garcia at the start of the show, and his reaction to the cookies she baked for Hotch - “I get shot in the leg and I don’t get any cookies?”.
