You can tell how excited I am about the editing I'm doing that I did both.

For the first: 119/425. For the 2nd 74/100 - these are far more movie lists of my sort. Dear gods, I've seen lots of films.

You must see Some like it Hot & Bringing Up Baby, trust me, you'll love them.

Also, for seeing older films, I highly recommend picking up a copy of Vito Russo's The Celluloid Closet and using it as a movie guide. Aaron and I did and saw much old movie coolness.

I love the Celluloid Closet, and it's definitely had an effect on some of the movies I've checked out over the years. I should rewatch it sometime, though -- it's been a while.

I very much doubt I'll have time to actually do this meme, but the thought occurred to me in response to

As queer characters and queer films have become more common, I've been able to become pickier, and I definitely have. There are films I've rated pretty low on Netflix that I would've been ecstatic to have seen in the early 90s.

Have you seen Mambo Italiano ? It's a perfectly nice sweet romantic comedy in which both romantic leads are male, set in Montreal, and them both being male just isn't a big issue. [ Save for the totally glorious moment where they are hugging in reconciliation and the blissfully unaware uncle walks in, you can seem trying to parse why two men hug that intently, and then bounds over, hugs them both, and says "So who did we beat in the hockey, then ?" ]
