[Seifer's been rather quiet since Irvine swung by and picked him up, a little unsure of how to approach the Hexadragon in the room. It was somewhat daunting, to say the least, to be peacefully recovering from what could qualify as serious trauma when all of a sudden he was transferred to a place where he'd done even worse things and he can't

[There's a mixture of anxiety and anticipation on Rinoa's face as she finds somewhere quiet for them to sit down and chat.]
You know, when I saw you... I wasn't sure whether to tell you or not. Because you don't remember, and it would be selfish of me to put all that on your shoulders... But I guess the cat's out of the bag, so...
The last time I saw you when we were here before, we were in Alexandria. Ultimecia was controlling me... And you were my knight. You went into the castle to hold off anyone who might come to stop me, while I went up right to the top to find the Queen... and kill her.
After that, I woke up in a cell. I heard that you were imprisoned too, but I never got to see you. I wanted to... I wanted to ask when she got to you. How willing you were. I don't think - I don't blame you for any of it, but - I think I might have helped to push you into it.
[She shrugs, offering him a tired smile.]I guess I'll never know what happened from your perspective. But I know what it's like to be controlled. So I wanted to ( ... )

After that he listens quietly for the rest of what she has to say. And feels awful, even if he isn't about to admit it to anyone. To go through that alone. This is wrong, Rinoa is supposed to be miss sunshine. To the point of annoyance, sometimes, buts still. Not… She shouldn't have to deal with this.]
First off, Angelface, it's not selfish to want someone to share with. Rai and Fuu, they… they helped me a lot, pulled stupid things. Heh, Fuu even kicked Raijin off the dock to cheer me up. It was classic. [There's an amused smirk on his face at the memory.] I couldn't 've dealt with those first few weeks without 'em.
Second, you're pretty awesome, Rin, but even you aren't awesome enough to drag Almasy into playing puppet for a time witch. He did that all on his lonesome, ya hear? [Another smirk, though more self deprecating this time ( ... )

The talking remark earns him a punch on the arm, but gets another smile out of her at least.]
I guess it's okay for me to carry on then.
[She draws her legs up, wrapping her arms around her knees.]
Well, that was the gist of it. I don't know if you want the details. Some people are still resentful though. I'd avoid Alexandria if I were you.

Alexandria, huh? I think Puberty-boy said something about that, now that you mention it.
Speaking of which, how are things with you and Leonhart, anyways?
[He makes a patient listening face and hopes he didn't just open an ugly can of worms.]

[It's not ugly, exactly. Just kind of weird to talk about Squall with Seifer.]
We're okay now. He was... distant at first. I didn't just hurt him, I hurt his family. His mom and dad are both here, and Ellone too.

Ugh, remind me to go kill some more monsters. I think the pink valentine cooties are catching.
[Okay, so towards the end he was being an obnoxious ass about it, but hey, he's Seifer, that's what he does. Besides, the only important part is that those two were doing okay. Man, he hated to say it about an ex-totally killed his pride-but Squall and Rinoa were meant for each other. She made him, oh, tolerable to the rest of the world's population that wasn't one Seifer Almasy, who would harass the guy no matter what he acted like.]
Family, huh? Yeah, I heard something about that. [Namely experienced it through Squall's very own mother, but that was hardly relevant.]
So, Miss Chatterbox, I've run out of conversation ideas that don't involve throwing insults-since, as you know, that tends to be my typical mode of discourse-but I'd still like to conversate a little longer.

[His smile fades a bit, and he's thinking back over his earlier conversation with the Loire/Leonhart 'clan'.]
I kinda talked to the Loires, so I know a bit about what it's going to be like. [Raine was impossibly nice, and he's going to do everything he can to turn on the charm and be impossibly nice and sweet and polite back. He sighs, and addresses an interesting aspect to the conversation. Something that's been bothering him for a while, and he isn't sure he'd have the nerve o talk about it otherwise.]
Rin, did you know that Laguna was my hero? [He leans back and stares off into the ceiling] I mean, I was totally obsessed with the guy as a kid. Saw his movie a million times, had random scraps of paraphernalia from anywhere I could get it.
[He bit off a harsh laugh] He was the inspiration for my dream. I wanted to be a knight, and protect people. Like he did in that B-rated movie of his. Even have the gunblade, see? [He toys with Hyperion's handle. The pose, everything was a rip-off. Man ( ... )

Wow. Did he blow you off? I'm sorry. And don't apologise for being bothered by it. If it matters to you, then it matters. What did they say to you?

Actually. It was okay. I mean, I was acting like a complete star-eyed idiot and still reeling from the fact that he and Squall were related, but he seemed like a pretty nice guy. And, then, when he asks, I have to be an idiot and actually tell him my name. Started to give lame excuses or something and hung up.
[He sits up straight again, and twiddles his hands.]
I totally thought I could handle it.
Actually, I feel kinda bad for the guy. I mean, what, his only fan turns out to be an evil guy who goes crazy at a tap and a call from his Mistress, who just happens to be an even more crazy and evil Sorceress? That's gotta suck.
[He crosses his arms in a 'that's and end to it' sort of way. His smile softens, though, when he thinks of Raine. He's not going to admit that he's a bit jealous, either.]
Mrs. Raine. She was... nice. I mean, by the time I got her call, Leonhart had given me a debrief about what I- what had happened. Still felt a bit off-balance.
She didn't yell at me. [Which, granted, sounds like something ( ... )

Yeah... I wish mine were here too. Squall has the chance to get to know Raine, which he never would have on our world. I wonder what it would have been like... with my mom.
[She sits up, snapping out of her reverie.]
But anyway! She invited you over, that's great! It means she's willing to make amends and honestly she is a nice person, even if she's kind of a nag. She's a bit strict. You should go talk to her. Then you can clear the air with Laguna too.

[And with that, Seifer snaps back into his normal cocky self, smirk and all.]
It was nice gettin' to talk this out. I'm sorry I couldn't have helped you out further.
[Hey wait a...]
You talked with Raine, too?
[Because he's totally missing the talk with your mother-in-law (of sorts) thing]

It's fine. And yeah, I did. I knew I had to work it out with her, I couldn't just let Squall's parents hate me. We've put it behind us.

[Honestly, he is, even if it is a little bit of a jab at his pride that his ex hooked up with his rival. Still, it makes her happy, and that makes him pretty happy, too. Friends and all.]

Me too. It took some time... But time really does heal. That's why I wish we'd had that time too.

Looks like I cut you short on that, Angel. I know you still need time, but I don't need healin' not between us, anyways.
[A pause]
If you need it, I'll be here for you, Rin. But I'm not holding any grudges about Ultimecia towards you.
