tempting with the devil's fruit

This week's cake theme? Children's chocolate cake. Everything we used to make the cake, other then the royal icing, had to be chocolate themed. What the teacher didn't specify though was the age group.. So I went Twilight.



This was a Devil's Food cake covered with a dark chocolate ganche. I used royal icing to ice the cake.

The painting was done by me, as well as the apple in front of it. The 'paint' is actually cocoa powder that I wet with rum and brushed. I even made the plaque that was painted on as well as the frame. ♥ The apple is made from modeling chocolate... Which basically tastes like a tootsie roll.
