Ahola~ With a white fluffy cake, pineapple jam filled center, coconut Italian buttercream icing, lime hinted fondant, and flowers galore.. What would make you not want to come home?



The pink flowers, hibiscus, made out of marzipan, were actually pretty fun to do. I enjoyed shaping them as well as carving in the "veins" on each petal. The blue flowers as well as the leaves were made from buttercream.



Around the bottom border is a roll of green marzipan. The only thing I didn't like so much of this cake was the poured fondant. It was my first time working with it, and it just didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it to. Oh well, at least now I know what to expect with it.

It's great to be back in cakes. ♥
