I haven't used them myself, but LJ-like things exist: greatestjournal and insanejournal, I believe. Parts of fandom emigrated due to LJ crackdowns on slash and such. Splitting the community would be sad but clones are good since the LJ feature set is unique, relative to blogs or social networking sites; it's not really either. It's a... journaling site.

Though greatestjournal was down when I just tried it.
