Google acquires Meebo
If you have a Meebo account but haven't been there recently, you may not yet have heard that Google is acquiring Meebo! They're going down on July 11.
Meebo Discontinued Products is a FAQ of sorts. I was happy to see that there's a tool to download your old chat logs, and even happier to see that the resulting zip file contains html logs in the same directory structure Pidgin uses: https://www.meebo.com/chatlog-download.
And if you really don't want Google to have all your account info, Meebo even has a page for Deleting Your Account.
gHacks suggests that imo.im may be a useful replacement; I mention this (without active recommendation) solely because it's a site I'd never previously heard of.
