Dancing on Thursday
Hi Montreal!
I'm an out-of-towner (from Ottawa) who's going to be in Montreal for a work conference next week. Thursday is my birthday, and I'd like to go out dancing with some friends. I'm looking for a place playing your standard silly top-40, pop dance music (90s nights are fine too) - nothing special like techno or latin or rap or anything. French or English doesn't matter (we're a mixed linguistic group and totally bilingual), and I'm also open to bars with good dance floors, in fact that'd probably go down better, since my friends aren't really the clubbing type (but I want to dance and it's my birthday so too bad for them, lol). I'd rather not get stuck with a bunch of drunk stupid teenagers (we're around 25), though I know the likelihood of finding a club or bar that plays top-40 and ISN'T a giant youngster magnet is low.
So, to summarize:
- place playing top-40 dance music
- open and fairly populated on Thursdays
- not a haven for dumb drunken children
I have no knowledge whatsoever of the club scene in Montreal, so any advice, recommendations, warnings, whatever is appreciated!
