Winter wasn't bad this year, but it was still cold, there was still a lack of sun, an abundance of wool and cotton armor against the cold, and even worse, cabin fever.
But now we're looking at the warmest easter on record, and whether this is a sign of global warming/climate change or not, it's irrelevant right now. This city has become many times more jubilant in the past 24 hours and it's just in time for the long weekend. Religious or not you can't help but wonder if some higher power decided this fate for the party town of party towns. Smiles on everyone's faces, cold drinks, alcoholic or otherwise, loud music blasting from car windows with arms dangling out.
Sitting on grass, sitting on your balcony, it doesn't matter. The yearly curse of winter is over, if only for a long weekend. So spend an egregious amount of time being lazy this weekend Montreal, winter is winter, and we've earned it no matter how "weak" winter is.
